Finally! It’s a tiny thing but I really like the way EQ2 implemented the new macro system. What I wanted out of Macros in EQ2 was a way to customize my casting of a spell or execution of an ability. For me having to type “/g Ok I’m healing pasto” is out of character with the fact that “casting a spell” takes a single keypress. Combining the two just makes sense to me.

The new system is both simple and easy to use. It doesn’t turn EQ2 into a macro fest, the macros are still fairly limited: equipping/using of items, casting of spells/macros, and issuing /commands. I took a good poke around it and everything I could think of was in there.

Very elegant. Coder envy :)
