Cruel & Unusual Punishment. That’s what working with Military TLAs is. Making working with military documents like potholing at high speed – you get a full head of steam on a flat stretch of concise, meaningful verbiage that you sink your teeth into and just as you shift up a gear BAM you run into paragraphs of generic-speak that turns out to mean “TBD”.

Yep. But that bureaucratic speak is invisible once you get used to reading it. Its quite creative, actually, filling in requirements that you must check-off before you can possibly know what that requirement *should be*; or even if it should be a slot for a requirement!

But if you havn’t got a slot there, or checked it off by adding in nonsensical terms of filler…the news will be there talking about contract *improprieties*.

Good luck. But if you can read military TLA’s and RFP’s and such – you will never, ever, ever starve. For surely, even our future alien overlords will be burdened by the irksome parasite of governmental oversight and bureacracy.

And I, for one, welcome our new alien overlords. As soon as they get the paperwork done to allow them come here.

Erm, what’s a TLA?

three letter acronym

It’s not just the military, we love acronyms where I work. One procedure has train drivers closing the MLIC, cutting out the BRV, pulling the BRVs then checking the CDU.

Ooooo sounds like CRS is looking to do some government work again? Is that true? I hope so, because I remember you guys once saying you were looking into stuff like that for alternate forms of revenue.

Gnpatton, as Killer has said he was coming over to the UK to talk to the MOD, then I would hazard a guess they may be looking to do some more stuff like that! ;-)

You guys should be perfectly configured, other than company size and personnel level of course, to create functional-demo animations for weapon systems with excellent turnaround time and cost effectiveness.

Particularly compared to a classic animation house that would do the job by generating a series of fixed 2-D cels and would have zero ability to revise the POV or object configurations, or a competing game/simulation-animation house that would use a non-physics-based engine and thus couldn’t achieve visual-realism-immersiveness nearly as quickly for a given animation-design mission profile and trajectory set.

That sounds fairly dull, I think we’re fairly excellently positioned to +++ATH0

Oh no, we lost Oli. Nothing can save (the servers) now!

Run away from the TLA’s,

It reminds me of the Love and Rockets song on the lift album.
