The first half is dull unless you find geeky debug tools being used nefariously fun.
The second half is … cool.
185Mb source WMV if you want to see it in its full glory.

Sweet, see myself again. Hey KFS, is it possible for players to set this up? I’m dying to know how I got killed when I took that stug on a flanking mission :)
No, it’s just an in-house debug tool at the moment :)
Pretty cool :)
Movie tool at last.
I knew it could be done.
Wheres the directors cut?
Boy it sure makes you wish we had building shadows!
The second half is boring, the first half is amazing! No, I’m not a geek!
But why was RAMP shooting with his pistole. Did he even hit something? And why didn’t you show the kill? :(
Do you (plan on?) record(ing) every action of every player then? Or is it primarily to be used in beta and release days? How much data would that be for a whole campaign?
If you launched this as a community tool with movement data for past campaigns there would be some awesome new videos!
Out of ammo. Yes. I wasn’t making an effort to edit. Infact, we drew some quite useful conclusions from watching this “ad hoc” format with regards to what we would need to investigate to make this useful.
6 minutes of footage took nearly 3 hours of recording.
Nicco:
The 82 minutes that includes Bastogne (it records the entire server) is 1.1GB. And that’s without the full suite of data I’m hoping to store (STOs, kills and strat data need recording too).
Yes I love watching footage of the napoleonic wars
is the server just recording raw text data into some timeline file then replaying via a developer client? if so that is awesome and can’t wait for the public client version :D.
It’s dumping raw cell-to-cell peering information to a database and then re-loading it at a later point. No special client required.
ah so you’ll never likely allow access to the game DB. what about a slave sql db with a read socket open to something like wiretap?
